Radio Skid Row is an Inner Western Sydney based radio station that has been on-air for forty years, broadcasting since 1983, making 2023 a very special year for them. With 90 volunteers running their 52 programs in 18 different languages, Radio Skid Row is a radio station by the community, for the community, and is second only to SBS in linguistic diversity.
Jaycar is stepping up and sponsoring two UPS units to ensure that Radio Skid Row can continue to broadcast 24/7, providing vital information and entertainment to their listenership. A UPS, or Uninterruptible Power Supply, provides emergency power when mains power fails, powering up immediately to prevent damage to hardware, and allow time for backup generators to power up. Radio Skid Row can now broadcast with confidence in the knowledge that even a power outage will not take them off the air.
