DANGEROUS
I bought this unit a few years ago, and used it several times. Recently checked it and Lithium battery was very swollen. Took it apart and discovered no lithium battery charger, Just a diode!! I consider this unit dangerous, as charging with a high capacity USB charger (1 amp +) will result in possibly dangerous situation. NOT RECOMMENDED
Disappointing
Purchased recenting to replaced broken trannie. Not very impressed: The sound is muffled cf an AR1733. The tuning knob is easily turned so it is not suitable as a pocket radio. There is no battery status indicator The "charge" light does not indicate charging complete just that USB power is connected. The battery has 3 terminals but only two connect to the radio - makes wonder if it has "proper" charge management circuitry which could have been used to indicate charge completion. If the battery runs "flat" the radio shuts down and loses the time and date, unlike the AR1733.
good fm and sw for the price
i got it a month ago and it is really good. FM and SW are all good. best SW radio for the price
Digitech MP3 Rechargeable Radio
Good while it works but tuning is very erratic and it shifts off setting randomly and without cause. Very frustrating radio. The aerial screw connection to the fitting is flimsy and falls off or out & is difficult and/or impossible to fix. Worst of all is the tuning dial which falls off. It is a pathetically tiny plastic connection which just falls off and renders the radio useless!! And batteries are variable in quality. Some batteries are good, others terrible.
OK for the price
I have owned this for a month now and the main inconvenience I have is the battery, 1) no warning before the battery goes flat, radio just stops 2) when charging, no indication when the battery is fully charged 3) You have to re programme the date, time and alarm clock after charging
Good useful feaqtures
This little radio is a great bundle of useful features. Not very durable, unfortunately. I dropped it and the tuning knob broke off. I cant see a waya ofr fixing it at this time.
Fiddly operation, and the tuning knob broke off
Sound is OK, but its operation is very fiddly. There is no ability to program preset stations. There is no indication of when the unit has finished charging, a bit of a safety concern for a Li-Ion battery. Worst thing of all, the tuning knob fell off and rendered the unit totally useless (as others have reported). Spend a bit more and get the AR1733 which is a really nice little unit.
Good clear sound
I brought this unit years ago which before the world band radio's became more compact this was the best radio that was budget and gave clear sound and generally pick up the most signal.
