These cable glands are quite reasonable, except that they only work if the surface they are going through is rice paper. The standard Jaycar ABS boxes, for example, do not allow for full thread engagement even when fully tightened. There is no separate backnut, it is cast as part of the body, so there is no adjustment for material thickness. If you are looking to install this gland in a box with a wall thickness more than about 3mm, look for another product. In the Jaycar ABS boxes it will work, but tightening the (plastic) fastening nut with only a thread or two engaged feels like the thread will strip at any minute!
